Hot Trends in Home Decor from High Point Furniture Market – Fall 2017
It’s always exciting for us to head down to North Carolina’s own High Point Furniture Market to see all our vendors and manufacturer’s new looks. We do our best to find the best values and styles for our customers and keep things looking fresh! There were some exciting new trends this market we’re excited to share. Here’s our top 5 trends from High Point Furniture Market – Fall 2017.
- Velvet/Hollywood Glam – That’s right – the Hollywood glam look is not going anywhere – if anything, manufacturers are taking up a big notch! If you aren’t sure what we’re talking about, don’t worry. Think mirrored accent furniture, metallic platinum or pewter, even gold finishes. Velvet tufting, furry throws, you name it! We love this look and our customers do too! You’ll see some new combinations some traditional and some pushing forward with some LED lighting to make it POP!
- Colors – We’re seeing a lot of blue this season as we did last market – deep indigo, bright teals, and everything in between! These are a nice compliment to the lighter wood shades we’ll talk about later. But if you love blue – you’ll have lots of great options for furniture and accessories this year! Grey is also a hot color – from upholstery to wood finishes, the grey and weathered finishes are definitely IN!
- Lighter Woods and more Natural Finishes – Say goodbye to high gloss, the new trends seem to be pointing toward more natural and lighter wood finishes vs. the espresso we’re used to. You’ll see more rustic styles, wrought iron accents, distressed wood finishes, even the industrial looks are catching traction. It’s a nice change of scenery from the dark finishes we’ve been seeing the last few seasons.
- Power Motion – If you LOVE comfort, and we do, and a GREAT VALUE – power motion is what’s HOT! The prices are fantastic and we’re seeing every bell and whistle from USB ports, power motion for both the feet and headrests. The fabrics and leather upholstery quality just keeps getting better. You’re going to love what’s coming!
- Americana/Animals – When it comes to wall decor and accents – the Americana look is going strong! Last season we saw it begin with lots of cows, barns, american flags, motorcycles, etc. We’re seeing even more now with beautiful country landscapes, rusty pick up trucks, railroads, and more. For you animal lovers – there are so many exciting and colorful pieces! Bright painted canvases of dogs, zebra, elephants, you name it! We love these fun and colorful pieces, they really brighten up a space and put a smile on your face.
