Choosing the right living room furniture is no small task.  Here are some helpful tips to hopefully simplify things and make the process more enjoyable!

Know your space.  Measure, measure, measure.  We hate to see customers disappointed when the furniture they picked doesn’t fit in their living space.  Measure first and you’ll be ahead of the game; don’t forget to check doorways – especially older houses which can often limit choices.

Purpose. What is the function of the room – who will be using it?  Do you have pets, small children you need to accommodate?  Are you going for a more formal feel?   Do you frequently have company?  If so a sectional or sleeper sofa may be something to consider.    A lot of folks are surprised to learn leather and bonded leather are very forgiving with children and pets and easy to maintain as is microfiber.

Budget. If you are on a tight budget decide which pieces you want to invest more in as focal points and which you’d rather spend on later.  For instance, we have a lot of very affordable occasional table sets – that may be something you’d rather save on and splurge on the sofa you wanted.  Or you may decide some things you can wait on, like that super plush recliner or storage ottoman.

Color. If you want to add some color to your space you can choose from the wide range of colors and fabrics we have available.  Decide on what role you want color to play; do you want to stay neutral for big piece and accent the room with color in other places – pillows, or maybe some artwork?  Whether fabric or leather – there is a huge selection of colors whatever your style!

Lighting.  Don’t forget the lighting!  Lighting can really make change the whole feel of a room so don’t forget this key element.  Accent your living room set with a unique lighting piece or consider one of our  floor lamps that tuck behind the sofa and cast the light overhead – they are a lot cheaper and easier to install than recess lights!
