If there is one thing we see customers struggle with time and time again it’s choosing the right mattress.  With so many styles to consider, shopping for the right mattress can feel overwhelming.  We are hoping this quick and easy shopper’s guide will make your search just a little bit easier.

Some Commonly Asked Questions:

  1. What Size Do I Need? Mattresses come in 4 basic sizes: twin, full, queen, and king.  With that said, you can special order sizes like extra long twin or California king, but most often, one of the 4 basic sizes will fit your needs.  See image below for size details.
  2. Can I Put a New Mattress on an Old Box? It is tempting to just buy a new mattress and no box to save money, but we do not recommend it.  First, your mattress is designed to be used with its companion box; mismatching pieces can impact the level of comfort and support you experience.  Buying a mattress without the matching box can also effect the terms of the warranty.
  3. How Do I Know If I Need a New Mattress? Some signs that you need to invest in a new mattress include:
    • Waking up feeling tired
    • Feeling like you need a nap in the middle of the day
    • Difficulty getting up from your mattress
    • A creaky bed
    • A mattress that sinks in the middle
    • A mattress that is 7-10 years old
  4. Tips to Help You When Shopping for a New Mattress.
    • Comfort. There are lots of styles available, traditional coil mattresses, pillow top, memory foam, etc.  If you are sharing your mattress, bring your partner in with you and both of you test mattresses to see how they feel.  Try out each style and see what meets both of your comfort needs.
    • Quality.  We offer a variety of mattresses to match any budget.  Your mattress is an investment in your health – good quality sleep has been shown to greatly reduce stress and health issues. A high price tag is not always indicative of a better quality mattress, but you want to consider how long you want your investment to last when shopping, spending a few more dollars today may mean you have a few more years before you’ll have to replace your mattress.
    • Warranty.  Your mattress will come with a warranty.  Generally this warranty will cover any manufacturer’s defect; this does not cover everyday wear and tear.  Many warranties state that any stain or soiling of the mattress will void the warranty.  A mattress protector pad is worth the investment.
    • Price.  We carry a variety of mattresses to match any budget.  We also offer financing and layaway options to help you get the mattress that will work best for you.
