This is our latest update on our response to COVID-19.  This page will continue to be updated with the latest information.

Dear Valued Customer,

Urban Furniture Outlet, like so many of you, are trying to navigate our staff and teams through a difficult time.  This situation is evolving daily and we will make every effort to update any changes in hours of operation to our customers as soon as possible. The health and wellness of our staff and customers is of the utmost importance to us.

Effective Tuesday, April 21st, 2020, we are permitted through Delaware guidelines to see customers by appointment at our furniture store locations.

To Schedule An Appointment:

If you plan to make an in-store appointment, we request no more than two people be in your party.  Per CDC and Delaware guidelines, we will require customers to wear face masks or face covering while in our showroom.

Currently we are offering appointments:

  • New Castle Location: Monday/Wednesdays
  • Dover Location: Tuesday/Thursdays

If you are unable to make an appointment during these times – please let our UFO associate know day/times that best work for you and we will do our best to accommodate.

Our UFO associates are able to offer phone consultations, send images, video chat, zoom, and do what we need to help you with making shopping easy!  We are happy to dedicate a scheduled appointment time to best serve you.

Are Your Showrooms Open?

We are currently open by appointment only.  We are following Delaware state guidelines, which allows furniture stores to see customers by appointment with no more than two appointments per half hour (effective April 21, 2020.) Please schedule your appointment by phone, email, or chat.  If you plan to have an in store appointment, we request no more than two people be in your party.  Per CDC and Delaware guidelines, we will require customers to wear face masks or face coverings while in our showrooms.  We want to assure you that we are taking proactive measures to disinfect high-touch, hard surface areas including entrances, customer service stations, restrooms, counter areas in compliance with CDC preventative protocols.

Safety of our UFO Staff & Customers:

The safety of our UFO teams and our customers is our top priority.  We have had additional training and education on COVID-19 symptoms and best practices to stay safe and healthy for all staff.  Additional measures to ensure cleanliness and safety of our facilities have been enacted including:

  • Practice social distancing 6 feet or more between yourself and others
  • Frequent disinfecting surfaces throughout day
  • Hand sanitizer available
  • Disposable gloves available
  • Frequent hand washing of 20 seconds or more

Pick Up & Deliveries:

Additional measures have been done to keep our UFO delivery team and customers safe as well.  We will continue to fulfill orders and pick up and limited delivery service.  The following preventative steps taken include:

  • Additional COVID-19 training for all staff on symptoms and preventative measures
  • Social distancing of 6 feet or more as much as possible
  • Disinfecting surfaces in truck, tools, hand trucks through out day
  • Use of face masks or coverings
  • Frequent hand washing/hand sanitizer use
  • Preparing items as best we can prior to delivery
  • Pick ups are by scheduled appointment only at this time
  • We are only offering curb side or ‘to the door’ deliveries at this time

Furniture Delivery

Per Delaware guidelines, delivery of furniture and household goods can currently continue.  To ensure the safety of our employees and customers, we are only offering ‘to the door’ deliveries at this time to limit contact and exposure.  When scheduling your delivery, please let your representative know which service you prefer.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will resume full services as soon as we are able following state and local guidelines.

In Home Repairs

To keep our employees and customers safe, all in home repairs will be rescheduled at a later date.  Once we are able to resume in-home repairs, we will contact you to reschedule your appointment.  If you have questions, please contact us by phone, email, or chat online.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

If I purchase furniture now, how long with it take to receive?

If your item is in stock, it will be subject to delivery availability.  Due to COVID-19 and Delaware state guidelines, our delivery times and services may change.  Please continue to check on our website for any updates to these services.

Lead times with special orders will vary by manufacturer.  Each manufacturer has different operating schedules due to COVID-19.  Some are closed, some are open; some are experiencing delays with shipping.  We will do our best to keep customers up to date on any lead time changes as they arise.  Please contact us for information on your specific order/items of interest.

We appreciate our Delaware and surrounding communities and customers support of each other, us, and many other small businesses during this difficult time and will continue to monitor this situation as it develops.
