It’s hard to believe the holidays are already here! Here are some tips from your friends at Urban Furniture Outlet to help make your holiday guests feel at home.

- Welcome Baskets. I like to keep a basket for each guest with fresh towels and a few travel size toiletries (i.e. soap, shampoo, toothpaste, mints) just in case they forgot anything.
- Flowers. A simple bud vase with a flower or two can really brighten up a room!
- Photos. A nice touch my friend does when I visit is she always puts a picture of us in the room I stay in. It reminds me of great times we spent together and makes me feel welcome.
- Goodies. Nothing worse than being a guest at someone’s house and getting the munchies before a big meal. Let your guest feel at home by leaving some snack packs in their room (i.e. snack bars, dried fruit, nuts, candy, etc) and some bottled water.
- Kids Toys/Crafts. The dollar store is a great place to pick up coloring books and simple toys for the kids to play with. Bubbles are a big hit with the little ones and easy on the wallet.
- Good Reads. When it’s time to relax between the holiday buzz – let your guest enjoy some magazines, good books, or even local guide books with things to do while visiting.
- Room to Unload. Be sure to make a little space in the closet for your guest to hang their things. Consider getting a hook to hang over the door if you have no closet space for towels or clothes.
- A Good Night’s Sleep. Make your holiday guest really feel at home by offering them a comfortable mattress to sleep on. Don’t have room for an extra bed? There are lots of great options these days – futons, ‘bed in a box’ ottomans, sleeper sofas, you name it. Be sure to put out cozy sheets, extra blankets, and pillows. Stop into our Delaware furniture and mattress store, we’re glad to help you find what best fits your needs and your budget!
Holidays are a busy time; it’s nice to do the little things that really make your guest feel at home while visiting. Wishing you and yours a happy holiday season!
