A Good Clean.  Oh man, we know, worst first.  Getting your home fresh and ready for cozying up and relaxing to the game, movie, etc starts with tidying the place up.  A good deep home cleaning for the fall is a great start to getting your home holiday ready.  Vacuuming carpets and surfaces, cleaning linens, shaking out the curtains, and wiping the cob webs away.  While your at it, donate or trash anything that you don’t need or can no longer use.

Entertain All the Senses.  Now that your home is tidy and clean, let’s start entertaining.  The entertainment and party experts say that you should focus on all our senses – smell, sight, touch, taste, and sound.

• Smell – fresh greenery or a scented candle or potpourri can really set the mood for the fall season.
• Sight – Home décor is all the rage and a couple pieces can go a long way in setting a tone.  A new table cloth, candles, table décor, throw pillows, or photos of your favorite Fall or holiday memories.
• Touch – Cozy blankets for those cool fall nights, gentle neutral tones of earthy color palettes to complement the season. Swap out those lighter fabrics for flannels and soft fabrics to cuddle up with during the fall months.
• Taste – Ah, the cooking and eats are endless, have fun with it!  Whether it’s a seasonal favorite or a new soup or chili recipe, the fall season brings recipes and flavors to put you in the mood.
