Choosing the Right Dining Table – Buyer Tips!

At Urban, we’re here to make shopping easy and affordable!  This week, we came to you from our UFO Dover store and got some shopping tips from Bralen, one of our furniture experts and UFO sales associates.  If you are shopping for your dining room or kitchen table or dining furniture in Delaware, read on for some of our tips for choosing the perfect dining set!

  1. How many people will be using your table set?  This is a great question to start with, to plan for how large of a dining table you need.  You’ll also want to factor in how many seats, whether you want counter height or regular height, and the sturdiness of your chairs.choosing right dining table
  2. Leaves, butterfly leaves, mean what!?! So we showed you some of our dining table styles have removeable leaves, and butterfly leaf features.  What this means – the center sectional of the table can be removed or stored under your table – so you can expand your table to be larger, or remove the leaf, and have your table smaller.  This is very useful for folks who don’t always need room for extra guests. If you enjoy entertaining, but generally don’t need your table full size, this could be a good option.
  3. Your room decor style.  Bralen shared with us some tips on open concept room – meaning your dining area and living room share the same space – you may want to match color or finish of your dining set, to the rest of your furniture.  We have great options in grey dining sets, brown dining sets, and many other color options. You can also look for more modern, rustic, bold, etc.
  4. Glass, wood, marble, etc.  Dining sets come in many different styles these days, you can shop for glass dining sets, wood, marble, and much more!  Glass can help make a space feel more open, but some folks just don’t like glass.  While it does show fingerprints, it’s very easy to care for and offers some great looks.  Even more styles in wood, marble, and faux laminate tops.  At Urban, you’ll find styles to match any home decor.
