Folks at High Point Furniture Market are gearing up for their next show in October 2014. You’ll see lots of color and patterns this season, deep reds, blues in living rooms, bedrooms, accents, and more. Brass makes it’s way onto the scene for case goods and lighting. Here are some of the top trends being seen in home decor and interior design.
- Seeing Red – We’ll see more red this season – more rich-hued colors like plum red or even burgundy, a bit more sophisticated than the classic red. You’ll see colors ranging from corals to pinks and intense garnets – manufacturers won’t stick to just one red – you’ll see lots of variations mirroring what we’re seeing in the fashion world.
- The Blues – We’ve seen it the past few seasons – blue remains a winner in home decor and fashion. You’ll see lapis, cobalt, robin’s egg, and some fresh additions like navy and indigo.
- Perfect Shade of Grey – Grey replaces beige as the new neutral and remains strong this season.
- Prints Gone Wild – We’ll see more bold and dramatic patterns this season, including – floral, exaggerated toile, splattered watercolor, and document style prints. A little of this trend goes a long way – great for accent fabrics, pillows, rugs, you’ll see an explosion of colors and shapes in pattern to choose from.
- Brass, the Other Metal – Brass remains strong and gains favor in home decor markets. Move over silver, brass is classic and you’ll see if shown in a lot of ways – case goods and fabrics.
- Lighting is looking UP – Chandeliers and pendant lighting are hot this season, you’ll see lots of styles from your classic crystal jeweled chandelier to a woven grass pendant light.
