At UFO, we’re all about saving you time & money and it’s not different when it comes to your home style & decor. Here’s our top tips for refreshing your home’s look to welcome in spring in style.

  1. Spring Cleaning is a Thing. Ok, first worst. No way to avoid it, our time indoors this winter means clutter, dust, and just signs of living in our spaces. Springtime is the perfect time to do a deep clean on your home. Empty closets and donate anything you no long need or use. Dust and vacuum upholstery and curtains, do the extra steps we normally skip over with regular cleanings. Change seasonal bedding and accent pillows and throws. Wipe out windowsills and open up windows – let in some fresh air. A good clean is a great way to start.
  2. Shake it Off. Not just a Taylor Swift song, springtime is a good time to shake out area rugs and mats. If you’re able to clean them do so, but at the least – take them outside for a good shake helps get rid of dirt, dust, and debris. Shake out your curtains and throws too to loosen up dust and pet dander. A good vacuum after and things are like new.
  3. Add a little GREEN. Whether it’s fresh flower buds from the yard, or a faux plant from the shop, a little green makes it feel like spring. Add little accents to your home decor to bring in some seasonal color. Pastels, lighter hues, and greens all work well to give a lighter feel of springtime.
  4. Update Your Accent Decor. It doesn’t take a lot to change the feel of your space. Swapping out vases, candles, table clothes, accent pillows or photos with colors and images more reflective of springtime. Pastels, light colors, greenery or flowers all work well. Choose floral or fresh smelling candles to awaken the scents of spring. Remember, when decorating you want to entertain all the senses looks, smells, sounds, feels, etc – get creative!
  5. Cook Springtime Recipes. Last but certainly not least, bring in springtime with your menu and recipes. Opt for seasonal produce, fruits and vegs help your wallet and taste better when used at their peak of freshness. Grilling becomes more of an option with warmer temps too and saves you sitting over a hot stove. Marinade overnight and grilling is a quick and easy weeknight option.

We hope you enjoy our springtime home decor tips. Making your house feel like home sweet home shouldn’t take you a lot of time or cost a lot of money. A little cleaning, thoughtfulness, a flower here or there, and some freshness really do make a big difference.
