Celebrate Autumn: Bringing the Season Into Your Home
They say that fall leaves are a great reminder for us that change can be beautiful. We love this time of year, cooler temps, sports, hayrides, pumpkins, and the every changing colors in nature. Fall inspires us with it’s vibrant colors, special holidays and memories to be had. Here are some tips on bringing the season into your home.
- Fall Colors. Fall’s color palette features all the shades we see in the leaves and nature. Browns, greens, orange, rustic red. You can bring in these colors easily with home decor items, table clothes, candles, bedding, throws and more. A couple pops of season color help to set the stage for Autumn.
- Fall Tastes & Smells. This would not be a fall post without a reference to Pumpkin Spice. The smell has almost become the welcoming beacon of the season being here. The smells and flavors go well beyond with apples in season, cozy meals like soups, chili and stews. Bring the season in by cooking foods that are in harvest, but also things that lend well to the cooler temps. Smells can easily be achieved with scented candles, potpourri, and accents in your home.
- Fall Feels – Think Cozy. Cooler temps mean it’s the perfect time to add some chunky throw blankets, pillows, and layers to your bedding ensemble and living room areas. Seasonal fabrics and throws are easy to add when cooler temps arrive and put away when seasons change.
- Fall Memories. The seasons bring so many great holidays and memories with them. Any easy way to bring Fall into your home is swapping out photo frames and photos for scenes and memories from days past. Football games, trick or treating wonder, hayrides, pumpkin patches, and more.
Home is where we cherish time with family and friends, relax, and recharge. It doesn’t take a lot of time or money to switch up your styles and looks for the season. Think color, textures, and entertain all the senses – like tasty fall foods and wonderful seasonal smells. Whatever you choose, we wish you a bountiful and wondeful fall season.
Happy Decorating.
